Elior wins four-year contract at Egger (UK) Ltd

Elior UK has secured a four-year catering contract with Egger (UK) Ltd, the timber building materials and flooring specialists, worth around £600,000.

The brief was to improve and enhance the catering and hospitality services to reflect the importance Egger places on the welfare of its 551 employees, by offering an exceptional customer experience, seven days a week.

Will Masterton, purchasing manager (technical service), Egger (UK) Ltd. says: “The restaurant facility is an essential welfare service provided to Egger employees at the manufacturing site in Hexham. During the tender process, the Elior team was focussed and professional using their experience and skill to deliver the quality standards we were looking for. I am confident that Elior will manage the transition to provide a first class catering service for all our site staff and visitors.”

Scott Morley, sales manager, Elior UK comments: “We met with Egger over two years ago and have maintained contact throughout, building a relationship that gives us a better understanding of Egger’s culture. At the point of tender, the Elior team had the knowledge required to match and exceed the client’s expectations. The supportive approach form Egger has enabled us to flex our delivery to meet the specific needs on site.”

Elior aims to move hot dishes from traditional canteen service to a more contemporary plated or one-pot style service, which will improve presentation and through improved portion control, deliver additional cost benefits to Egger.

Three hot daily meal options will include a meat, fish and vegetarian option together with a salad bar/deli to maximise choice. A newly introduced bean-to- cup coffee concept will be complemented with the launch of an on-site bakery range including homemade cakes, bakes and breakfast pastries. The offer is completed with a chilled grab-and-go section featuring a range of freshly prepared sandwiches, salads, snack pots and individual desserts.
