The 14-week course will see a select group of students working three days a week in Ibrox stadium’s hospitality and function kitchens, as well as attending classes at West College Scotland’s Paisley campus.
Carl Morris, director of marketing & corporate communications at Elior, said: “Developing young talent is crucial for the future of our industry – something Elior is extremely passionate about. By partnering with West College Scotland we can provide students with the opportunity to put theory into practice and develop their skills and confidence in a professional environment.”
Carol Gaffney, curriculum and quality leader at West College Scotland, said: “This course will be a springboard for students who have ambitions to secure a job as a commis chef or a modern apprentice. We’re very excited about how our new partnership with Elior will further enrich the course for our students and equip them for future success.”
After successfully completing the course, students will have earned an SVQ Level 1 in Food Preparation and Cooking – meaning they’re able to apply for commis chef roles, a modern apprenticeship, or further culinary study.
