In this role, the Head of Finance Shared Services and Transformation is responsible for :

• Overseeing financial control & accounting functions to ensure the highest standard of service, along with taking a lead role in the continuing systems implementation and developing service level agreements aligned with company external & internal policies
• Improving and maintaining process workflows, procedures and management information for all areas under finance shared service centre (“SSC”) responsibility
• Developing effectiveness of the Finance function through continuous training and development of the team. Lead and motivate the team to high levels of performance
• Having ultimate responsibility for accurate finance SSC accounting records and the provision of financial reports
• Leading, developing and inspiring a high-quality finance team of approx. 40+
• Developing, managing and challenging the finance SSC key performance indicators, and continually review to maximise efficiency of the finance function
• Leading and supporting the managers of the teams to ensure delivery of all services within agreed budgets and to agreed targets
• Supporting all managers in the identification, reporting and management of risk and non-compliance and action when required

As a head of function you will :

• Coach and assist finance managers
• Plan any training that your team members require
• Challenge processes to eliminate non-value added tasks

Skills & Experience:
• Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA)
• Broad and sustained Finance SSC and team management experience
• Experience of designing, implementing and operating robust financial controls
• Strong track record delivering and heading up transformational programmes and projects
• Proven experience in delivering and evaluating post-transformational change
• An experienced shared service leader with a demonstrable track record of successfully shaping & implementing end to end processes and a culture of continuous improvements.
• Proven track record of delivering service in a fast paced environment
• Demonstrable IT skills
• Experience of working to tight deadlines (peak activity) and managing a high volume of transactions in short deadlines
• Diligent and accurate
• Strong attention to detail
• Passion for service, warm, friendly and genuine with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• A talent for motivating and developing people
• A proactive and innovative approach to initiate and support continuous improvement


The successful candidate will receive a salary of up to £100,000.00 dependant on experience. You will also be eligible for a company bonus which will be subject to the achievement of company objectives. You also receive a contributory pension, healthcare and life assurance. Finally you will be eligible for 33 days a year.
