The head of finance development and support is a newly created position within the finance department. As part of our strategy for continual improvement, our leadership team recognises the need to create centres of excellence within the broader business in order to create a robust and strong organisation. The role of head of finance development and support will build a new operating model for finance, and ‘create a one stop shop' for all finance master data, finance queries and continuous improvement.
The head of finance development and support will play a key part in the set-up and delivery of this new department. They will be the driving force in transitioning to a ‘business as usual' state, and drive continuous improvement and the promotion of excellence across finance and the wider business.
In this role you will be based in Macclesfield, however you be expected to travel to our offices in London as and when required.
The role is responsible for:
Owning the business policies, processes, tools and templates for the remit under finance development & support.
Creating a new support helpdesk within finance function to support our finance teams across the business.
Designing and the delivery of data standards, set-up, maintenance and exit of key master data attributes owned by finance in accordance with agreed service levels
Managing, coaching and developing a team within finance development & support
Working closely with learning and development to ensure business training needs are effectively captured, met, measured and monitored.
Contributing to the design of new training materials and the delivery selected components of training to the team
Identifying and supporting the delivery of continuous improvement opportunities alongside finance colleagues
Skills & Experience:
A proven and sustained track record of driving and implementing change, familiar with working with shared service centres
Strong process design capability and experience in designing and developing functional operating models
Experience driving a purchase to pay strategy and best practice
Expertise in managing diverse stakeholders
A natural curiosity for how things work end to end (not just in finance), a keen eye for detail and the role of data in processes
A proactive and innovative approach to initiate and drive continuous improvement and in working with new tools and technologies to enhance process
The ability to build and retain great working relationships across the business, both internally and externally
A Qualified accountant
A passion to drive excellence and enthusiasm for making a difference
The successful candidate will be offered a salary of up to £80000.00 dependant on experience. You will also be eligible to receive a 15% bonus which is subject to the achievement of KPI's. You will receive a company car, pension, healthcare, life assurance and 33 days holiday.
