Elior goes further with Coffee Connection

Elior UK has gained a further contract with Wakefield and District Housing (WDH) to operate its high street coffee shop, Coffee Connection, in Wakefield city centre.

The caterer already holds the contract to provide catering services to two WDH Extra Care sites in Ossett and Featherstone, which mobilised in September 2013. The coffee shop will fall into the existing seven-year deal worth £1.75m.

Coffee Connection is incorporated in to brand new service centre, The Hub, which has been developed to enable local WDH tenants learn about technology and the digital world. Opening 8.30am to 4pm Monday to Saturday, with late night opening on Thursday, Coffee Connection will provide a typical high street coffee shop offer. It will be open to members of the public as well as the 60,000 WDH tenants living in the Wakefield area.

John Bowler, operations director of healthcare, Elior UK, says: “Elior is delighted to be embarking on this new city centre based venture with WDH. Our offer includes a full menu of freshly prepared coffees, cakes, pastries and sandwiches served by our happy and skilled team in bright and welcoming surroundings.”

In conclusion, Steve Rawson, Managing Director of Operations, WDH, says: “We are really pleased to be working with the Elior team and have found their expertise to be invaluable in our first venture into a new market for WDH. We are looking forward to continuing working alongside them as we look to grow and develop the Coffee Connection brand together.”
