Norfolk Constabulary benefits from Elior thrift

Norfolk Constabulary operates out of 60 sites throughout the county and has been hailed as one of the most successful and cost efficient forces in the UK. The management of the force’s sixty sites in the UK has been helped by a long-term partnership with facilities management specialists, Elior.  The company has contributed to helping the force achieve significant cuts in expenditure through careful management and reviews of essential working practices to achieve the maximum efficiency for each of their managed operations.

By reviewing subcontractor pricing and applying a realignment of roles within the force support infrastructure, Elior management has been able to reduce costs and increase work productivity by 50 hours per week. Vehicle costs have been reduced through an innovative scheduling programme which has achieved a £50 per week saving in fuel cost per company van and improving our Carbon foot print.

Elior’s contribution towards assisting the force in its drive for efficiency and cost reduction has been significant. Areas of operation include hotel services, cleaning waste management, accounts washroom service, caretaking and vending – all critical to the everyday function and wellbeing of the force.

They are all everyday essentials, but by being managed efficiently and cost effectively by Elior, the force has seen a significant benefit in cost reduction and a positive improvement in services. The success over three years has resulted in Elior being awarded an extended contract by the constabulary.

Brian Partridge, Elior’s Facilities Management Support Manager, has been a key figure in the negotiation of costs and service delivery. “We have been able to make significant savings by moving some sub contracting tasks to sole contractors, gaining efficiency and achieving a better return on investment. We are all working towards achieving maximum efficiency and in these days of essential cost cutting we are delighted to have achieved such significant results for a key client.”

Brian revealed, “Donna Crompton and her team of Area Supervisors have worked tirelessly towards achieving these significant cost and efficiency improvements for the Norfolk Constabulary and we are all delighted to have helped make a policeman’s lot a happier one!
