At Elior we believe that safety and wellbeing is fundamental to the quality of our service. It’s not a box we tick,  but  a vital discipline - a way of thinking - that runs through our entire business, covering food safety, health & safety and fire safety.

Because we see these areas as so important to our business, we formed our own in house team of qualified professionals dedicated to the field in 2007.  We have built this resource into one of the most effective, proactive and farsighted internal units of its kind in food services and site support services in the UK.

Our Safety and Wellbeing team supports every type of site we operate on in the UK, across all our market segments, to ensure that our food - as well as meeting the tastes of our customers  - is safe food prepared in safe environments produced and served to exacting standards.

We carry out a rigorous audit and monitoring programme to ensure that all our operations comply with and exceed legal standards. But our work goes far beyond a compliance mentality. We strive for continual improvement that will give our clients and customers the confidence of knowing that we operate at the highest safety standards in our industry.

At the heart of our safety and wellbeing philosophy is the belief that while  rule books are essential, people – their attitudes, skills and care – make the real lasting difference in this field. We train and we educate our people in these disciplines continually and we develop practical tools that make it certain that they will maintain the standards we set.

This team also plays an important role in site mobilisations, refurbishments , event management and business continuity planning.

In fact, food safety and health and safety are a key part of our front line activities – quite the opposite of a backroom function.Our specialists in this field are fully engaged and thinking ahead, to ensure these disciplines are an integral part of the pleasure we  bring and the trust we earn.
